Format:
- Greensomes Stableford: Both players hit a tee shot. The best drive is selected and the player whose ball was not selected then plays the next shot. The pair alternates shots until the ball is holed.
- Normal Stableford scoring applies.
- The pairing with the most Stableford points at the end of their round will be the winner.
- In the event of a tie, a count-out will determine the winners.
- The count-out will be based on the stroke rating of the holes, starting with the most difficult, i.e. points made on the stroke 1. if there is still a tie, points made on the stroke 2 etc.
Handicaps:
Official Handicaps are Required
- Maximum handicap Men: 24 (Full handicap)
- Maximum handicap Ladies: 36 (Full handicap)
- The team handicap is calculated as follows: The team member with the lower handicap will use 60 percent of his/hers full handicap and the member with the higher handicap will use 40 percent of his/hers full handicap. These will then be added together to form your team handicap. EG. Player A’s handicap is 10 and 8 – 10x60% = 6 Player B’s handicap is 20 and 15 – 20x40% = 8 Team handicap will be 6+8 = 14
- Tournament organizers reserve the right to verify all handicaps
Eligibility:
- The minimum age is 18 years old.
- Golfers may only play in one qualifying event in a series year.
- The winning pairing from each qualifying event is eligible to participate in the National Final in August 2010.
- The winning pairing from the National Final is eligible to participate in the World Final at the Pevero Golf Club on the Island of Sardinia (Italy) in October 2010.
- Participation in a final is not transferable.
- If one of the players in the winning pairing cannot participate in a Final, a draw will be conducted from the next placed pairing to replace the missing partner.
- If both members of the winning pairing cannot participate in a Final, the next placed team will be eligible fill the spot.
- Participants who have already taken place in a World Final will not be eligible to qualify for another National Final for five years after that World Final. Eg. World Finalists from 2001 will only be eligible for a National Final again from 2007 – even with a different partner.
- Players who participated in the 2009 National Final are not eligible for the 2010 National Final – even with a different partner.
- The Audi quattro Cup Golf Tournament is an amateur competition approved by the SAGA.
